Early one beautiful spring morning in April 1985, Donald Malloy jr., arrived in the world. Growing up in a suburb of Cleveland Ohio, Donald graduated from Cleveland Hts. High school. During his jr. and sr. year in high school, at the age of sixteen, Donald attended Cuyahoga community college as a post secondary student, in the Tri C Jazz Studies program. His passion for the trumpet began at the age of ten. At the age of fourteen, his musical journey began with lessons from the phenomenal Kenny Davis. His skills as a trumpeter continued to develop with the assistance of Steve Enos at Tri C, where Donald became an asset to the Tri C Excellence in music program. With a sound that could only come from a new and rising young jazz master, Donald has won scholarships to Berkley College of Music and the well known Oberlin Conservatory of Music. In the fall of 2003, Donald enrolled at Oberlin College to continue his journey as a musician.
