Noël and Company's Eva Le Gallienne Festival presents Liliom (1909), a fantasy drama by Hungarian playwright Ferenc Molnár. The piece tells the story of the ill-fated romance between rough-hewn carnival barker Liliom and sweet-tempered servant girl Julie. Liliom is best known today as the inspiration for the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel .
