FREE CONCERT: Well-Tuned Words – The Dowland-Campion Collection

Thursday, Apr 18, 2013 1:15p to 2:00p

Amanda Sidebottom, soprano & Erik Ryding, lute, offer jewels from three song masters of Shakespeare’s era. John Dowland was the greatest songwriter of the day, and his First Book of Songs (1597) inspired others to follow his lead, including his prolific friend Thomas Campion and John Danyel, who left one book of superb ayres.

Midtown Concerts offers the general public the opportunity to enjoy free, high-quality performances of early music in a convenient, comfortable, acoustically superb venue.
