Heirs of Tantalus refracts Greek myth and Roman history through the prism of the baroque, incorporating material from the Greek tragedies of Aeschylus and Euripides, biting commentary of the Roman historian Suetonius, and excerpts from operas and cantatas of Monteverdi, Scarlatti and Handel.
