Dzul Dance Presents 10th Anniversary Performance
The February 2013 performance features Artistic Director Javier Dzul’s first choreography, An Encounter with Picasso, described by the New York Times as 'recalling Martha Graham's 'Penitente' in its conscious use of theatricalized ritual' and a preview of his upcoming choreography MEXICO MAYA. Dzul Dance fuses modern dance with aerial arts and contortion as a means to communicate Mexican and indigenous pre-Hispanic culture.
