Marc Cary Celebrates Abbey Lincoln

Thursday, May 9, 2013 7:30p

3rd Annual Harlem Jazz Shrines Festival
As a defining engagement of the Harlem Jazz Shrines Festival, we present Moseka House: The House That Abbey Built, a celebration of the beloved Abbey Lincoln by her former pianist and arranger Marc Cary—a Harlem Stage favorite. On night one Carey interprets her compositions solo and in trio; on the second, his Focus Trio will swing tributes by the singular vocalists Keith Ailer, Maggie Brown, Pyeng Threadgill and Imani Uzuri.
