May 2013 Workshop: Hand Embroidery (NYC)

Join us on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 3 to 6 pm for the month's Feature Workshop: Hand Embroidery.
Total ticket includes, $75 class fee and a $15 supply kit. Kit includes the following: Blank tea towel ready for embroidering, embroidery hoop, crewel yarn (in two colors!), embroidery needles, and embroidery ring, all of which are yours to keep!
It's a three-hour event to turn your basic sewing skills into something a little more festive! Learn simple techniques to personalize, customize… Show more and stylize your projects.
Do you walk through boutiques adoring the hand embroidered items but balking at the prices? Have you thought, "I can do that!" Let me teach you just how easy and fun embroidery can be!
In this class you will learn the basics to adorn your very own tea towel with either a classic or modern embroidery using a beautiful crewel yarn. I'll walk you through the materials and tools you'll need, as well as various pattern transferring techniques and enough information on stitching that you'll be able to start embroidering without being overwhelmed.
Your workshop fee includes: - use of basic sewing supplies, not included in kit - a $25 gift card for any future class at The Sewing Studio.
