JL & The Rejected

Singer/Songwriter JL (of JL & The Rejected) has been compared to the likes of Donny Hathaway, Sly and the Family Stone, and D'Angelo. Fusing R&B with a soulful voice, backed by some of New York City's best rock and funk touring musicians, JL is quickly getting the attention of New York & New Jersey's R&B and funk fans.

He went on to attend the world-renowned Newark Boys Chorus School at the age of 9. JL formed a group at the age of 11 with his two brothers called EOS (Elements of Sound). In the year to come, they went on to win countless talent shows as well as performing on Sesame Street as the Hanford 5. They also sang a song for the HBO children's cartoon series "Happily Ever After". They also came in second place out of thousand in the BET/Coca Cola True Talent Search.
On the acting front, JL has been in plays such as Color Girls, Donny's House, Black Nativity, and Little Shop of Horrors. JL has also appeared on the Ricki Lake Show and BET's Live from the Lobby. With musical interest that range from Donny Hathaway to Paul McCartney, Ella Fitzgerald to Bloc Party and many others both in between and out of the box, JL is truly a mix of all genres R&B, Rock, Soul, and Funk. One minute you'll be grooving to an R&B tune, then slow dancing to a ballad, then all of a sudden rocking out to something totally unexpected, which seem to flow together without missing a beat.
JL has plans to release an EP in early 2013, accompanied by a online media campaign. With winter shows starting to fill the calendar, JL looks forward to a productive and an entertaining 2013.
