Morning and afternoon master classes, lectures and panel discussions will be offered by Company dancers, distinguished guest teachers, and published Duncan scholars including Associate Artistic Director Cherlyn Smith, Janaea Rose Lyn, Alice Bloch, Gemze de Lappe, Morgana Rose, and Faith Kimberling. Classes to feature live piano accompaniment by Vladimir Shinov and Erika Podoprigora.

\Isadora's World\: \The art that inspired Duncan's choreography and the development of her technique\ Conceived by Associate Artistic Director Cherlyn Smith, this special tour guided tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Greek and Roman Wings will be conducted Friday, May 18th at 6pm, Recommended for all ages. \From the Sensuous to the Sublime\: The Brahms Waltzes, Op.39, with Janaea Rose Lyn.
This workshop will identify the Gypsy, Spanish and Middle Eastern styles which influenced the suite of dances often referred to as \The Many Faces of Love\. Participants will also learn the choreography of one of Isadora's signature works, \#15\, and dance it with rose petals.

Many people think Isadora Duncan had no technique and simply improvised. However, her dances are based on a profound understanding of how the body moves. Renowned Duncan dancer, Gemze DeLappe explains how studying Duncan technique develops dancers' kinesthetic sensitivity, expressiveness, musicality, performance qualities, and \ballon\ skills they can transfer to any style of dance.

A myth still exists that there was only pure improvisation behind Isadora's work. But in fact, she created, and her descendants built upon, a beautifully conceived and fully realized pedagogy. We will explore the layers upon which the technique was built; first understanding and creating the lines, then moving and jumping them, and finally adapting them rhythmically to find and experience the musicality which is the brilliant cornerstone of Isadora's legacy.

Mothers, daughters, grandmothers, aunts and cousins too, join Dr. Alice Bloch in the life affirming movements of Isadora Duncan. Sway, walk, skip, and maybe even waltz together in the warm and welcoming movements of her dance. Learn the beautiful Chopin Prelude and signature patterns like the Greek-inspired Tanagras on which Isadora based her choreography.
