I use painting to make my thought process tangible. This selection of work, “Identity is Precarious,” explores questions of identity on a personal (one’s relationship with one’s own body) and on a public level (the externally imposed conventions of, say, advertising). This work has a clear female point of view, but I believe our relationships to our own bodies and other human bodies is something that all people can viscerally relate to.
