Decorated with red Christmas lights and colorful T-shirts above the bar, and wooden floors and couches in back, Rubyfruit is a cozy spot that draws a crowd on Saturday nights. Attentive, friendly bartenders serve up tasty drinks that don't break the bank, and the crowd--mostly lesbian women over 25 with a sprinkling of younger folk--is lively, especially during weekly musical events and televised Liberty games in the summer. The environment is easy going and unpretentious, open to all no matter what their orientation. Downstairs, find a small restaurant with a fireplace that's perfect for brunch and romantic dinners. Dishes include pasta, fish, seafood, chops and burgers; appetizers such as fries and mozzarella sticks are also available at the bar. You can find different entertainment each day of the week. Kareoke is on Tuesday and Thursday nights, DJ Stacy entertains on Wednesday and Friday nights, DJ Fabulous plays on Saturday nights, Sunday brunch has live piano music and Singing Celeste in the evening.
