Created to house Jazz at Lincoln Center's many educational programs, the Irene Diamond Education Center offers several acoustically treated multi-functional classrooms, rehearsal and small reception areas. The smallest of the three spaces within the Irene Diamond Education Center, the Louis Armstrong Classroom is an intimate room that can be utilized for a range of educational and other activities. Twice the size but similar in décor and function, the Edward John Noble Foundation Studio provides room for larger groups. The large Education, Rehearsal, and Recording Studio functions as a full service recording facility. As one of the largest recording studios in New York City, this room features a sprung wooden dance floor, an intimate observation balcony, and enough capacity for an entire symphony orchestra. Designed as an integrated component of the Frederick P. Rose Hall facility, the recording studio is wired to all of the performance spaces in order to facilitate ease of professional recording. Housed with three world-class performance venues, the Irene Diamond Educational Center is a strategic and unprecedented pooling of educational, rehearsal and recording resources.
