Passing Ceremonies

Juneteenth Legacy Theatre and Sugar Valley Theatricals will present Passing Ceremonies, a play by Steve Willis, at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Passing Ceremonies, set in the hereafter, is a gay, black love story based on an imagined meeting between Harlem Renaissance poet, Bruce Nugent, and 60’s era poet-journalist, Essex Hemphill. Cast includes James Edward Becton III, Tom Martin, Amand Valdes, and Bryan Webster. Obie-winner, Sue Lawless directs.
