Some guiding principles of the Meisner Technique include:
Acting is the ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances.
The foundation of acting is the reality of doing.
There's no such thing as nothing.
Acting is about instincts and intuition not intellect (heart not head).
Active awareness frees actors from selfconsciousness on stage.

THE Meisner Series: Meisner developed a series of exercises to be taken in sequence.  It is important that all actors begin at Level One regardless of experience. Classes are held once a week. In addition, students are required to work with partners outside of class 2-3 times per week. To really absorb the technique, students must put in the time.
LEVEL ONE:
Introduces the concepts of the approach and develops the actors' instinct, encouraging actors to work with greater spontaneity and honesty.
