NSSA's 2012 Music City Step Fest

A Step Show for High School and Community Step Teams.
Step U.P. Program Focus
The NSSA was founded with a focus on youth. In 2007, the NSSA partnered with the HBCU Wellness Project, Metro (Nashville) Health Department, and the Metro (Nashville) Parks Department to create the Step U.P. to Health youth step team program in Nashville/Davidson County. The NSSA was part of the community collaborative that received a two year $500,000 grant from the State of Tennessee s Department of Health for program… Show more expansion, using stepping as a way to fight sedentary activity and childhood obesity with middle school aged children.
The Step U.P. Program (U.P. stands for Unlimited Potential ) has stepping as a component of the program, but consists of health education, academic support, and community service.
