Ms. Pearson's images, which contribute significantly to the book's appeal, transcend the subject of sea glass. Through her sensitivity to the color, shape and surface… Show more texture of the glass, her mastery of lighting and her eye for graphic composition, Pearson creates images that read as works of abstract art on many levels. Her work dances between the representational and the abstract, both celebrating sea glass and transcending it. Pearson says that this body of work is informed by her abiding attraction not only to beauty but, even more, to something invisible and fundamental -- something vital, energetic, and elemental that she senses within the visible world that draws her so.
