A Gastropub is a British term for a Public House that specializes in high quality food, a step above the more basic "Pub Grub". The phrase was coined in 1991 when David Eyer and Mke Belben opened a pub called the "Eagle" in London. The placed emphasis on the quality of food served. Gastropub's usually have an atmosphere that is relaxed and its focus is on cuisine prepared as well as in the best restaurants.Here at the Handlebar we prepare everything fresh and all is made to order, from the appetizers to the salads, entrees and desserts.
