One of the best serious movies I've seen all year. That doesn't mean much when you know I don't see many serious movies, but discounting that it was truly fantastic. I crossed my genre barrier to see this movie, it was that good.

It follows the typical arc - new guy pulls himself up by his bootstraps in the gritty underworld; before you know it he's the big dog; hubris pushes him too far. But it's well-acted, has a sense of realism, and not dominated by superfluous violence. All in all, a gripping story.

Very Good Movie, but a bit slow & long. Enjoyed but NOT blown away!

Amazingly satisfying film with tremendous talent and story telling through out. Small, almost cameo, roles by great actors all through the film keep your eyes riveted to the screen. Truly scary and realistic portrayals of the bad old days of police corruption in the big city. Don't miss it...

This movie reminded me of a modern day Scarface, black mafia style. Great movie, the ending will have you surprised - yet shocked.

Violent and raw like Scarface. Apparently based on a true story. Only flaw is when Crow is apparenlty prosecuting a case when he is also the star witness.
