Once the night guard at the Museum of Natural History, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is now a successful purveyor of infomercial products. Soon after learning that his museum friends have been shipped to the Smithsonian Institution, Larry receives a distress call from Jedediah, who warns him that four of history's greatest villains have come to life and are planning to take over the Smithsonian first, then the world. Larry joins forces with friends old and new to stop the quartet's nefarious plans.

The first one was lots better; I almost fell asleep. Very dissappointed. Hardly any interaction with the Museum people.

This movie was actually more funny than I expected it to be, especially after I heard from others that it was really corny. I thought it would turn out bland and too much like the first but the characters in this movie were refreshing and fun.

The fact that it was a childrens type movie, I totally enjoyed it. It was even better that the first which is very uncommon with sequels. The history part well what would you do if you came back in another century??? The cowboy was a bit boring but the overall was very enjoyable. I give it a 4 1/2. I will probably buy the DVD. :)

Before watching this movie personally, I was told by someone I know who watched, and was told that the series looses some of it's historical accuracy and feel in the new movie. As for accuracy, I cannot say. However, the feel of this movie was more open and "fun", however, I feel they tried to make it too "fun", and as a result I felt that it lost some of it's seriousness that it needed to make the movie better than a 3.5 star. While I understand it needs to be fun, and maybe even more fun than the last one, some of the scenes were simply ridiculous. I did not mind seeing the silly statues come to life and simply be there on screen, while not interacting with the main story line. But when characters that were simply peculiar were involved in the plot, in no significant, or minor ways, I thought it was too much. Even worse, the main characters being dull or stupid. Such as Kah Mun Rah, who was simply stupid for the majority of the movie. Not bashing his voice at all, his character was not devious to the slightest. Larry (Ben Stiller) seemed bored and dull for a large amount of the movie. While the plot and story play were good, and historically, it did add a number of characters, overall I felt it lacked in areas that should have been focused on. In the end, 3.5 / 5.
