This film opened the recent San Francisco Indie Film Festival.
SHOTGUN STORIES is an interesting concept film set in an unfamiliar (to me) setting of Arkansas. The setting and characters can obscure the universal message of brothers, revenge and its consequences.
There's a curious mixture of laconic tension and rural mellowness. But don't let the rural working class background cause you to miss big themes.
An open-minded film goer ought to give this film a chance. You'd be surprised what flows under the surface of this film.
