Valkyrie

Col. Claus von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise) serves Germany with loyalty and pride but fears that Hitler will destroy his country if allowed to run unchecked. With time running out for Germany and the rest of Europe, von Stauffenberg joins a group of like-minded, high-ranking men who want to overthrow the Nazi regime from within. With everything he holds dear in the balance, von Stauffenberg becomes the trigger man in a plot to assassinate the evil dictator.

Great Movie!

My son and I always go to the 75¢ showing on Tuesdays at the picture show. We figure it's worth that to watch a movie we will only heckle the entire time anyway (don't worry; we keep it quiet and amongst ourselves). This was the first movie we've seen that we haven't heckled at least once. The only runner-up was "American Gangster," which we only heckled once. This movie must have gotten good reviews (I don't keep up with that) because the place was packed! I've never seen this theater so full!

Valkyrie

The fact that this was a true story makes the film worth seeing. The film kept me in suspense and at the end left me wondering, "What if..." I had a problem believing that the main character (played by Cruise) would jeopardize so much and effect so many.

Sat on the edge of my seat...

..and I knew how the movie would end. I am not a fan of Cruise but all the performances were first rate. The director and actors did an Oscar worthy job of creating gut wrenching tension and then twisting and dialing up the suspense to a spectacular crescendo. The audience and I couldn’t help ourselves; we expected history to be re-written. This film will be on a bunch of top ten lists...great date movie; you'll definitely be talking about this film for days and weeks later.
