The Devil Must Have Created Religion

Bill Maher got to the ‘forest’ but missed some of the ‘trees.’ He did an excellent job of showing the abject stupidity of religion (the forest). However, he could have utilized the idea of an ‘all knowing god’ to challenge his participants to a better end. It only makes sense that, if there were a god (especially an all knowing one), it would be incumbent upon a thinking being to run up against something that might be called ‘the god wall.’ And if you didn’t run up against the wall (i.e. use all your mental ability) then you’d be, for lack of a better term, self-damned. So, religious people are self-damning by virtue of their incomplete thought processes. And, if you’re religious, then you believe the devil damns. So the devil created religion. All religions! Amen:).

Religulous

Some searingly funny moments, and overall very enjoyable, especially for an agnostic like me, but make no mistake, this is very thin stuff insofar as dealing with real issues at the heart of the 'is there a god' and 'is religion silly or serious, good or bad' issues are concerned. Preaches to the unconverted, and will satisfy and thrill surface feeders only.

Hammer Time

Bill Maher, host of Real Time, brings the hammer down on organized religion as only he can. A fearless commentary on one of the most important issues of the day -- worth a viewing by almost anyone.
