When Mike Hanlon (Tim Reid) discovers that a childhood monster (Tim Curry) he once thought was dead has returned to kill again, he summons his old friends (Annette O'Toole, Richard Thomas) back to their hometown of Derry, Maine. A shape-shifting creature of evil, the monster most commonly takes the form of Pennywise, a sadistic claw-handed clown who menaced the group as children -- even murdering one of their younger brothers. Now they must band together to put an end to "It" once and for all.
