When a long-missing page from the diary of assassin John Wilkes Booth suddenly resurfaces, it implicates the great-great grandfather of treasure hunter Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) as a conspirator in Lincoln's death. Ben's globetrotting quest to prove his ancestor's innocence leads him to a closely guarded book containing the nation's deepest secrets.

Great movie, fun to watch. If you liked the first National Treasure, you'll like this one. If you didn't see the first, you'll still like this one.

Ok, so it was a good, excitnng fick, but I seemed to have missed the point--how dose finding the lost "secret" help clear his grandpa's name? And if innocent, why was his name in the diary in the first place?

This movie was very good! I sat there the whole time and didn't move. I was that interested!

The movie like the last leads to a treasure quest, the dynamics are good between the male/female counterparts. The historical references are interesting but a little less enamoring than the first without the ruthless "badguy". A badguy with honest aspirations, not all about himself made it a little hard to pull for Cage like in the last one.

This was a really good movie. I went and saw it with a friend, and it was great! There is a lot of action, and it doesn't have too many "clues all over the place" like the 1st movie... Other words, this movie was great!!!

WOW, This movie has it all. My whole family loved it. Our ages range from 60 to 8. It had edge of your seat action, humor, and a little romance. I rate this movie 5 Stars. Highly recommended.

My family and I enjoyed this one as much as the first. We thought it had more action than the first movie. It was pretty much non stop action, holding our interest through out the whole movie. The first movie had a little more humor and romance, but overall this one was just as good.

What a disappointment! Like the first, I was hopeful for an exciting twist on American history reminiscent of Da Vinci Code (the book, not the movie). Instead we're left with a modest mystery adventure in which the characters solve both the inanely boring, remedial clues and the ridiculously impossible making this one of those films where you can't suspend logic to believe the magic. I was most frustrated by a random dinner meeting the (ex)wife has with Ben Gates nemesis early in the film leading you to believe she is in cahoots with him and leaving a pit in your stomach through the rest of the film waiting for her to turn on Ben; instead she remains true to our hero while we're left without an explanation for why she even met/knew the Ed Harris character.
It is a worthwhile rental but don't shell out for movie tickets.

Enjoyable movie! We needed a high action adventure movie with humor and fun for the holiday break. Loved the cave scenes.

I’ve read some average to poor reviews,as well as, talked to people say it’s too much like the first one and/or predictable, but WHO CARES? This is a great movie for both children and adults, which is rare these days, and even includes an educational aspect. As for all the amateur critics out there, lighten up and enjoy this movie for what it’s worth… good old fashioned CLEAN FUN!!!!!!

it tanked into a Indiana Jones wannabe and failed miserably. Yeah, the fake geek side-kick is highly annoying.

I went and saw this movie last night and I did like the movie in its story content because I'm very interested in Civil War lore for one. I like Nick Cage, he's a great actor, and that Lovely Young Woman whom plays the films Female Lead is Very good actress, I find the other male character "Riley" rather boring if not annoying. The main issue was the films length, I think somehow keeping it to about 100 minutes at the most would have been better. Still do recommend the film if You have about 2 hours and 15 minutes to spare.

Nicolas Cage carries the movie from begining to end. If you are a fan of "Easter Egg Hunt" movies then you probably enjoyed part 1 and you might enjoy part 2.
The writers tried hard to add comedy but they failed. Nicolas's side kicks were there just to take up space. Theatre goers were not pleased when this 2hr/25min flick ended.
Go see the movie if you are a fan of Nick's and you LOVED part 1. Nicolas TANKED in the movie "Next" and this new installment of "National Treasure" will only be worth its weight in gold to Nick-Fans...
If you wait for DVD you'll come back and thank me........
