With their beloved Andy preparing to leave for college, Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and the rest of the toys find themselves headed for the attic but mistakenly wind up on the curb with the trash. Woody's quick thinking saves the gang, but all but Woody end up being donated to a day-care center. Unfortunately, the uncontrollable kids do not play nice, so Woody and the gang make plans for a great escape.

i came into this movie with high expectations because of growing up with the original, and it not only met but surpassed my expectations. i loved this movie and recommend it for everyone(especially if you were a kid when first toy story came out). you will not be disappointed because it will probably be the best movie of the summer

I was honestly expecting this movie to suck. I feel I must preface this review with that. I was pleased to find it to be a general retelling of "The Great Escape" with its own flare.
It is amazing to me that Pixar can keep a really stale looking story as fresh as they did, with a cast I have seen before. I feel like this is mostly due to the notable reduction in cast.
In this iteration, the boy is heading out to collage, and they make mention in the story that some of the toys have been lost over the years. Some to garage sales, some undisclosed. This left them with their core cast and let them better tell the story without worrying about giving screen time to more useless characters.
The highlight of this movie to me: Ken Doll.

I honestly don't know how Pixar can continue to outdo themselves. Toy Story 3 is the best of the Toy Story movies, one of the very best Pixar has ever done. Funny, ingenious and profoundly moving at the same time. I won't spoil the story for you, but i suggest that if you're an adult, even a hard-bitten tough guy, take a box of Kleenex with you. And don't miss the credits. Brilliant work, and easily--EASILY--the best movie of 2010 so far. Bravo!
