Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), a homeless black teen, has drifted in and out of the school system for years. Then Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) and her husband, Sean (Tim McGraw), take him in. The Tuohys eventually become Michael's legal guardians, transforming both his life and theirs. Michael's tremendous size and protective instincts make him a formidable force on the gridiron, and with help from his new family and devoted tutor, he realizes his potential as a student and football player.

Sandra Bullock hit a home run!!! The entire cast was great! Leigh Anne was a fiesty, tough, outspoken little lady who should be commended for the work she did to change one child's life. What I loved about the story was her willingness to learn.
The directors made this a human interest film and attached nothing to it. They allowed the story to speak for itself with no underlying social commentary.
The movie went by fast and was a testament to supportive marriages, strong families and a willingless to love beyond oneself and their surroundings. This is a definite keeper and one that my family and I would even pay to see again in the theatres! Excellent choice!

Awesome, not a chick flick like i assumed. Excellent casting, destined to become a cult classic like Rudy and Remember the Titans!

This was a good, "feel good" movie. It showed human empathy toward others and how we should treat people. It showed belief in the fact that there is often more to a person than you may see, in the beginning. The main character, Michael seemed a little bland, at first and the movie seemed to move a bit slowly at first, but made its point and showed human triumph and family working together, even if they are not bound by blood. This is a good movie for anyone to see, but you won't need to worry about taking your kids to see it. It shows people and how they should behave toward others. Michael does enter the crack house where his old "friends" still live, but he demonstrates the triumphant realization that he has grown to beleive in himself and not what the street offers. Not a "disney" movie, but good theme.

I agree with what everyone has said. I would like to add that this is a movie that your husband can enjoy also so bring him along. I got a kick out of watching S.J. We had a hard time seeing it but got in with good seats last Saturday. Also, stay for the very end so that you can see the real life characters.

The title is explain by the very tragic event portrayed at the start of the film.
I felt it was a little slow to get moving, but it pulled me along and I was so pleased that the real Michael still plays.
Not keen of Bullock's blonde look!

This was without exception a 5 star miracle. I choked up 7 times throughout the movie. This true life story shamed most of us, who have allowed their bias to prevent them from seeing what could be in a persons life.
Sandra Bullock never looked more beautiful. Her relentless pursuit for Michael's best is admirable and fantastic to watch unfold. She gave new meaning to the song "Ain't no mountain high enough."
S.J. Touhy proved that you do not have to be big to be a giant. He was funny and a force all by himself.
The Touhy family, and everyone that gets involved with Micheal's life quickly embraces and loves him.

I can't believe that I am the first to review this awsome movie. This one caught me by surprize. I expected to see either a good story and/or good acting but the both were outstanding. The story of a football player that didn't even know he was born for the sport until he came out of his shell with the love and encouragement from Leigh (Bullock). Too many details to write on, but the two scenes where Michael(Lillis) drove one player over the fence (well deserved) and busting up the crack house in the hood showed Michael's contemplation of his oportunity afforded by the Tuohy family. I loved the humble nature Michael portraid, excellent job by Bryan Lillis. The NAACP got a bad rap in the movie for what it brought up as a valid concern that Leigh handled with innocent approach. The out come for the whole story was very heartwarming. I don't rate five stars lightly, however this one gets it. Cudos to John Lee Hancock.
