When hard times hit Swallow Falls, its townspeople can only afford to eat sardines. Flint Lockwood, a failed inventor, thinks he has the answer to the town's crisis. He builds a machine that converts water into food, and becomes a local hero when tasty treats fall from the sky like rain. But when the machine spins out of control and threatens to bury the whole world under giant mounds of food, Flint finds he may have bitten off more than he can chew.

This was an ok movie. My children thought it was boring. It reminded me of Jimmie Neutron.

I enjoyed watching this film. No it's not deep and I felt it didn't have a moral to it. I'm not going to act nicer for a few days after watching it. The best part about children's films is listening to the children in the theater laugh.
The last part reminded me of Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Thoroughly enjoyable, with so many throw away lines that it requires re-watching. One favorite was when the hero finally gets going, he yells to his friend, "C'mon Steve, we've got some diem to carpe!"
I expect I'll be buying this one.
