As Expected But Still Fun to Experience

I'm usually not one for just special effects but they did a great job in this movie. Some of the acting is predictable and some effects laughable but two+ hours went by fast. Just wished they would have developed the premise deeper.

2012 (Jesus is laughing)

Ripoff of the best kind. The entire film hopes to fool most of the people some of the time.
The film industry is ripping off the young people who spend most of their time necking in the back of the show

Flood? Another natural disaster flop.

Not meaning to be a religious thump, but this already occured in Genisis 6,7,and 8 ending with a promise that the world would not be flooded again? The movie did have a couple of tense moments, but technically a blunder. The driver's door on the limo to easily opened off its' hinges. The motor-home damage...come on man, that impact on the back only cutting the back end off and still maintaining course, yea right never mind climbing out of the crack it fell into. The plane flying through the low altitude of the city falling apart, any idiot would have pulled back on the stick to gain a safer altitude much sooner than in the movie. The Russin plane overloaded and under powered was doomed after take off. Oh my favorite blunder was the gears being jammed by a plastic light stick and cord and then later a more sisible metal widget being impossibly removed while the jam was still under pressure, the Terminator could not have dislodged it. The scenes only showed the opening of the earth's cracks. What about the colliding and subvervent plates? The way the cracking followed the roads in many of the instances and the splintering of the ground was fake. All of the natural disaster movies seem to have the same problems this one had... lack of technical reality to give a better since of practical possibilities. This was a waste of my time and money.

Stupid fun

Yes, it's a Roland Emmerich film, so the plot is flimsy, the scientific "rationale" ridiculous, and the acting cheesy. At the same time, it's kind of fun. The effects are frankly rather hair-raising at times, and probably worth the cost of admission (if you go to a matinee). It's quite long, though. I wouldn't hork down a Big Gulp before going to the theater.

The Day After Tomorrow

It pretty much reminds me of that movie "The Day After Tomorrow." Does humanity survive or be extinct in this movie? Leave that for you to see. There was few times that would get you out of the seat, like hurry up and leave the place! I just think some things in the movie just isn't realistic. For example, limo/rv driving like they are some sports car. Some things should of ended the movie already. The movie had some good visual effects. But anyway, are we prepared if this were to really happen?

roller coaster ride

This was an action packed movie. I was on the edge of my seat a few times. Seemed over-long, actors were a little flat, they got over their tragedies very fast. Reminded me of Posidon adventure, Indiana Jones, and Titantic rolled in one.

interesting

still trying to process this movie which is filled with a great deal of special effects, some of which was over the top. Somewhat hard to understand the origin of the disaster and who did/didn't know about it and their role. Will need to watch it again (once released on DVD) to hopefully obtain clarity on how it all began
