Good WW 2 Era Drama

Like Schindler's List this film explores the quiet heroism of concentration camp prisoners. The film is darker and more real as the protagonist is a hardened criminal who works from within the camp to protect his fellow prisoners while impeding Nazi war efforts. It is a worthwhile film that presents the viewer with a clearly defined choice between pragmatic and idealistic approaches to impossibly dire conditions.
