Retired auto worker and Korean War vet Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) fills emptiness in his life with beer and home repair, despising the many Asian, Latino and black families in his neighborhood. Walt becomes a reluctant hero when he stands up to the gangbangers who tried to force an Asian teen to steel Walt's treasured car. An unlikely friendship develops between Walt and the teen, as he learns he has more in common with his neighbors than he thought.

Walt Kowalski-super character, super action. We see big problem with gangs and we're witnessing suffering of innocent people.
Law is helpless, not protecting citizens at all.
The end can put tears in your eyes!

After seeing the other reviews, I was a bit concerned that the movie might not meet the level Eastwood has recently set. It was far better than his previous films. It was funny, violence was not gratuitous, and superbly acted. Best film I've seen this year

I am still processing this film. Eastwood's performance is powerful, but a less charismatic actor could never have pulled off the transformation, and the dialogue would have been brutally offensive instead of absurdly charming. I cannot imagine any possibility of such an overtly racist person experiencing this change, but because I love stories of redemption, this film pushed the right buttons to leave me in tears.

I thought this was the worst movie I've seen in years, and it was totally predictable.
