I Like Tom Hanks In This Movie

This certainly better than Da Vinci Code. I am a big fan of Tom Hanks..but this role somehow does not really suit him. Russell Crowe would have been the best to play Professor Langdon.

I watched the first movie "The Da Vinci Code" it felt a lot like a discovery channel documentary at times. This movie however was a lot more cinematic, it flowed really well, and didn't seem like there was wasted film. Good cast over all, and despite the controversy, I thought it actually painted Catholics in a pretty positive light. Seemed like most of the media hoopla is just vaporous generalizations, which would have never been even mentioned had it been a more "Socially Acceptable to Hate Religion."
The film did have its flaws. but they were all in the vein of "How would/could you have done it better/different." to which there were no real answers. A couple people I went with to see it were a little annoyed with the Anti-Matter angle they used. It seemed a little far-fetched, but I understood why they used it, to loosely tie in Technology versus faith. But they could have accomplished the same goal with a simpler device. On that theme, the main scientist was trying to be professional and keep tight lipped about the device, but then at some point it was almost like it didn't matter who knew there was an antimatter/doomsday device hidden somewhere.
All in all a great version of the "Find the Bomb" story with enough colourful dressing to make it unique, but it was still mildly cliché.

Ron Howard, once again, directs a superb movie from Dan Brown's book. He combines two of my favorite actors, Tom Hanks & Ewan McGregor into an weave of intrigue. This conspiracy theory with the back- ground of the Vatican kept me on the edge of my seat, kept me guessing and made me want to know more.
