Sweet Land

Inge, a German mail-order bride (Elizabeth Reaser) in 1920s Minnesota, encounters suspicion and scorn when she arrives to marry a member of a Norwegian farming community. Forbidden to marry the man (Tim Guinee), she goes to live with his friends, the Frandsens (Alan Cumming, Alex Kingston), and while she learns how to speak English and about American customs, love slowly grows between Inge and her fiance as they get to know each other.
