Despite her lack of experience, housewife and mother Penny Chenery (Diane Lane) agrees to take over management of the family Thoroughbred farm after her father (Scott Glenn) becomes ill. This is easily the best feel-good movie of the decade. Great acting with heightened suspense that leaves you on the edge of your seat with your fists clenched and just waiting to cheer - which many viewers did. Tremendous job by Disney and well-deserving of the applause at the end. How many movies can do that to an audience?! Finally, a movie worth the time and money - and then some.

Really enjoyed watching this movie. The race scenes scared me senseless; I could just see the jockey plummeting to his death. Some parts sad, some funny, but all together a good time. The husband wasn't all that committed, which was a shame he couldn't have gotten on the bandwagon with her.
