Spring break turns gory when an underground tremor releases hundreds of prehistoric, carnivorous fish into Lake Victoria, a popular waterside resort. Local cop Julie Forester (Elisabeth Shue) must join forces with a band of unlikely strangers -- though they are badly outnumbered -- to destroy the ravenous creatures before everyone becomes fish food.

I remember the original movie which back then gave a little more suspense and story line...this movie was a complete disgrace and to know that $ was even invested on such a tasteless film remake! I can't believe I wasted my time and money on this film...I even left in the middle of it...that is how bad it was!

I know that my rating & review do not seem to correlate. This is because this wasn't a good film. It wasn't. Was it entertaining in the most ludicrous way possible? Damn straight!
It was this Summer's "Snakes on a Plane." You take a cast of mainly B-list actors, combine it with a convoluted plot where Spring break meets pre-historic piranhas & you get a load sea demons gorging themselves on horny, drunken college kids.
I never realized piranhas could grimace, but when I watch a movie expecting to see gore & breasts aplenty, I'm not really asking for logic now am I?
