The Spirit
Apparently murdered cop Denny Colt (Gabriel Macht) returns as the Spirit, dedicated to protecting Central City from crime. His archenemy, the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson), is a ruthless killer who will destroy the Spirit's well-loved city to find the secret of immortality. As the Spirit pursues his quarry, he meets many beautiful women who would be happy to either kiss or kill him.

…and that’s too bad. I expected more, the PG rating had me skittish from the beginning but I went in open minded; I walked out scratching my head. Then I remembered...I'd seen it all before; Batman...the TV series! The director just forgot to insert the “POW!” and “BONK!” balloons used in the Batman series. A great performance by Samuel L. Jackson nor the red hot presence of Scarlett Johansen could fix this clunker. Rent it...go see 'Doubt'.

They can't be serious. "The Spirit" has to be a lampoon of pulp potboilers like "Sin City" and "300."
