Definitely entertained

This was definitely the most funniest animated movie I've seen all Summer. Toy Story 3 is just as good by comparison, Despicable Me kept me laughing from start to finish.

It would have been more interesting if they focused on how Dr. Gru was a villain, as well as making him a bit more evil, yet I understand that it is a children's movie, so they would want to avoid the idea of evil prevailing.

The plot is follows a standard formula for this genre, but it was a well crafted film. The voice casting & animation went hand in hand, the story telling & style had children as their target audience while successfully entertained the older crowd, & the jokes weren't too mature for children or juvenile for adults. Altogether this was a very well-rounded & adorable feature.

Laughed a lot

Good little story line. I love going to the movies and the children all around are laughing so hard. I am a big Steve Carell fan.

One little thing: I wish the animators would take into consideration that very samll children will be watching the movie and may find some things a little bit too scary.

Cute

This is most definitely a kids' movie. Usually these films incorporate a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor to keep the adults on thier toes, but this film only had ONE joke aimed at the parents.

That aside, it was a damn good Kids' movie. Very sweet, and exceptionally well developed. The commercials are kind of misleading to me though, it looked more like an action packed duel between two evil masterminds aimed at the "Adult Swim" crowd. When in fact it's arguably the exact opposite.

The plot isn't taxing, it's predictable in it's themes, but the execution comes parallel to expectations, and while it arrives at the same ends, it does so without taking the obvious or easy route. It's its own thing, which is refreshing.

Woulda given it a higher rating, but this is for a pretty specific audience, and the advertising was pretty deceptive in my opinion.

Of all the wierd things I would have preferred to see this on TV... And not for any other reason than that. I really feel this movie would have been better enjoyed at home for some reason.

Very Cute. Definitely a kids movie.

Before getting railed about stating the obvious (a PG movie is obviously a kids movie), I should preface that this class of animated movie typically has a great deal of adult friendly content. This movie is no exception, but it is not quite to the same caliber. This is probably due to the lack of things to create nostalgia over in this film. They could have gone with more of the stereotypical "Bad Guy" things, but the plot doesn't really create the opportunity for it. The story moves pretty quickly.

You also shouldn't be expecting an original story. Sure, there hasn't been something EXACTLY like this before, but the theme is the typical, "bad guy's cold heart is melted by the innocence of children" story. Fortunately, it is done rather well.

The animation quality is up to the caliber I've come to expect of these movies, and the voice acting is well done, but again, just up to my expectations. The bar has been set pretty high for animation over the past 5 years or so, making it hard for me to be amazed, and inflate a rating over. That said, this is a solid film and well worth the money to see in the theater.

Due to the lack of truly "Epic" scenes in this movie, it will most likely carry over to DVD etc very well. So much so that if you have a good sized TV at home, you probably wouldn't be missing much to wait.
