Blind for most of her life, concert violinist Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba) is the recipient of a double corneal transplant that restores her sight at long last. With the help of her doctor (Alessandro Nivola) and sister (Parker Posey), she learns to see again. Soon, however, frightening visions convince her that a terrifying alternate world exists, and only she can see it.

The Eye is a fairly well-executed cinematic experience, although not a very interesting story. The premise is typical of American horror movies, combining the ability to see ghosts with the ability to see into the future. Although there are many potentially interesting and original ways to tell such a story, it seemed a little contrived and not very satisfying in the end.
As far as horror movies go, The Eye often resorts to loud, sudden noises, and quick shots of ugly faces. There are also a number of events that seem inconsistent with the story being told. For example, most of the ghosts represent ordinary, non-violent people with various personal issues, yet some of them would attack the main character for no apparent reason.
The Eye has some creepy imagery and chilly moments, which are frequently ruined by cheap attempts to frighten or startle the audience, a tactic which American filmmakers have a hard time resisting.
Only see this movie if American horror tends to impress you, or if you're attracted to Jessica Alba(or to the guy who plays her doctor).

The movie is scene for scene, character for character like the Hong Kong version. You can probably take the Hong Kong script, run it through Babelfish and come out with this remake.
However, I really enjoyed watching Jessica Alba in this movie. Well, I enjoy her in most of her movies. Too bad her lines weren't all that well written.

Ok, if you're a Jessica Alba fan you should watch this. The movie overall wasn't bad because it does follow through on the story throughout the movie. The blurs can stress you out though. There are some heart pounding moments but not too bad to get a heart attack. I recommend seeing this movie just once because it will get old easily.

Jessica Alba did a great job portraiting a blind girl, but not her violin skills. Other than that, it's a usual copycat ghost movie. The whole movie is very dragging with a few jumpy moments. And the storyline is lame. There is nothing new in this movie except that you may re-think about organ transplant after watching this movie. Watch the movie if you are die-hard Jessica Alba fan, otherwise, wait for DVD.
