Having cheated death, gunslinger and bounty hunter Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) has one foot in the natural world and one in the supernatural. His unusual nature gives him the ability to track down anyone or anything, so the Army makes him an irresistible offer: It will erase the warrants on his head if he will find Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). Turnbull, his oldest enemy, is preparing to unleash hell on Earth and will stop at nothing to kill him.

The Idea's used in the new movie jonah hex fall amazingly short of their potential,The plot is just Random as hell. The characters for the most part Lack any real development.so much is left unanswered and under-explained.
The Character of lilah(played by megan fox) Has no purpose till the very end of the film, her presence thru-out is merely a time filler.which is sad considering what wonderful eye candy she makes.
The whole movie has a steam punk feel to it,with weapons and machines that are way to advanced for the civil war time period that the story is set in.
The movie felt rushed and un-finished. I have no prior knowledge of the DC comic that it is allegedly Based upon,So due to that fact most of the plot and movie confused me.
overall worth a rental but never a buy unless u know what its all about and are a fan.

Plain & simple, Jonah Hex was a mess. I couldn't get attached to any of the characters because there wasn't any character development, just plot devices. On top of that, the entire plot just seemed like filler. This movie was on par with receiving an answer to a question you didn't ask; it was a muddled mess of ideas which could have potentially provided a very interesting story.
What really bothered me was the fact that unnecessary plot devices were introduced to add depth to characters, then never touched upon again, making certain scenes completely pointless. Usually movies like this could be salvaged by amazing action scenes, but just like the rest of this movie they had dull "get from point-A to point-B as quickly as possible" tempo. Any potential for emotion was removed due to monotone facial expression & drolling voices.
Jonah Hex had brilliant ideas & an excellent cast for the most part, yet I get the feel as if the making of this flick was set to fast-forward & the makers just gave up.
