This was the perfect way to end the Toy Story tale. It was meant to be a story of a painful goodbye, coming of age, acceptance of moving on tied in with the charm & humor we all know & love from Toy Story. Quite frankly, they pulled this combination of ideas very well.
From the get go, you are thrown into the imagination of a child playing with his toys, leading off brilliantly into his love for these toys. This is the perfect setup to the heartfelt bond that drives the pain & love of this film. The emotional core never overshadows or drowns out the family fun sense of humor which fans have always admired about Toy Story.
I found the 3-D a little unnecessary because, like most films that utilize this technology, it never once had a moment where anything popped out at the audience. It added to the depth of some landscapes, but these spectacles were only astounding for the duration of the shot.

My daughter and I enjoyed the movie alot, but It was not worth the xtra money for the 3D. It didn't seem like anything was jumping out at me. Half way through the movie I forgot I was watching 3D. My 5 year old wouldn't keep her glasses on.My advice is save the money and watch it in regular view.Believe me you're not missing out anything.I Love the movie, but not the 3D.
