An ambitious executive at a record company, Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) gets what looks like an easy assignment: He must escort British rock legend Aldous Snow (Russell Brand) to L.A.'s Greek Theatre for the first stop on a lucrative comeback-concert tour. Snow, however, has different plans. Learning his true love is in California, the rocker vows to win her back before starting the tour, forcing Aaron to pull out all the stops to get Snow on stage in time.

Bad! Bad! Bad! While it tries to portray a so-called rock star life humorously, the constant and gratuitous foul language was exhausting within the first 10 minutes of the movie. Events which were supposed to be outrageously funny were pedantic, juvenile irrelevant to any coherent storyline. Plot...there was none except for almost two hours of cursing, sexual ennuendo that was trite, people we were supposed to somehow feel something for that were stupid, souless, morons, and poor acting that tried to maskerade as emotionally touching. I'm sure the constant screaming was supposed to make us feel sorry for the main characters and feel some kind of emotional connection but it just gave me a roaring headache.
Save your money and see something else at the theater and if you want an evening of torture and boredom wait for this one to come out on netflix.

With a surprisingly good performance by P. Diddy. Or Daddy... or whatever he calls himself nowadays.
Anyway, Jonah Hill and Russel Brand make an excellent straight man/funny man duo in this movie, which is unpredictable enough to keep you on your toes, although it's got plenty of predictable rockstar debauchery. Could've used a bit more debauchery in my opinion, but I think they did pretty well with it in general (especially all the song lyrics).
Definitely worth seeing.

..and that's a good thing!
I was expecting a dry regurgitation of "Forgetting Sarah Marshal". While there was definitely a common thread shared, it's definitely its own thing. The humor is relevant, and flows consistently, everything is paced out and doesn't burn everything on the movie previews and commercials.
The cast is amazing, though there's times where you can tell Russel Brand just couldn't take the movie seriously and kind of walked through the scene refusing to act. Sean Colmes was ridiculous in this film! You can tell he has both pent up rage at record producers AND the talent they represent. He plays both sides of that coin and brings a rare insiders' look at that world. The rest of the cast was well chosen, and all the roles were played out really well.
My only complaint was that the last 10 minutes or so seemed like the writers just completely ran out of steam and just stopped at some point and wrote "And they all lived happily ever after! lol". They were missing 'something'; but I don't know what.

Some of the funniest movie quotes I have ever heard. Simple plot, but keeps you laughing the whole time! Russell Brand & Jonah Hill are an unexpected great pair! Would recommend it to all my friends...but maybe not all of their parents or children :)
