Revolutionary Road
Frank (Leonardo DiCaprio) and April Wheeler (Kate Winslet) always see themselves as far-removed from the conventionality of suburbia. Yet that is exactly what creeps up on them when they buy a house in Connecticut. He toils 10 hours a day in a job he hates, while she, as a 1950s homemaker, yearns for fulfillment and passion. Rebelling against the torpor of their lives, the couple plan an escape that may push them to their limits.

I do not give 5 stars lightly. I saw the trailer and thought it might be a satisfyingly depressing story about children having children having children (most of society). And it was, with killer performances and a really good script. People struggling to be honest. Selling their souls. Trying to feel alive and wake up to life instead of buckling under the stifling suffocation of "normalcy." It was slow in parts and the soundtrack a bit repetitive, but I absolutely loved it and I want to see it again.
