No kidding. Amber India, in a lowly strip-mall plaza in Mountain View, is consistently voted "Best in San Francisco." For good reason. At some Indian restaurants, everything tastes more or less the same. Amber India serves up a delicious range of flavors and scents in rarely-seen dishes. The interior is like a hidden world of discreet lighting, Indian works of art, and silent, excellent service. Well worth the price for a special treat. (The only reason fo the half-star is that once, one dish we ordered was too salty.)
