The Creative Arts Center is the home of the College of Creative Arts, which is comprised of the three academic units:
School of Art & Design
School of Music
School of Theatre & Dance
While each of these schools have been established for much of the 125 plus years of the University’s existence under various administrative structures it was only in 1968 that they were brought together as a performing and visual arts unit.read more

On March 2, 1982 the academic units of the Creative Arts Center were recognized as the College of Creative Arts.
A leading figure of the progressive country movement of the 1970s, singer/songwriter Ray Wylie Hubbard remains best known for authoring the perennial anthem "Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother." Born November 13, 1946, in Soper, OK, Hubbard and his family relocated to Dallas during the mid-'50s; there he learned to play guitar, eventually forming a folk group with fellow aspiring musician Michael Martin Murphey....
