Primary Ballet

For 12 weeks, this is for  Primary Ballet Students in first grade to second grade, ages 5-7. This class is the beginning of formalized ballet classes. Your little dancer will learn spatial awareness and musicality, as well as some ballet French terminology and ballet movements and steps. Dancers at this stage still learn in a creative atmosphere and do not yet use the ballet barre, but instead learn to music in the center of the room focusing on one movement at a time. Weehawken Dance is proud to include the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The Abt® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Primary through Level 7 will be taught by Abt® Certified Teacher, Natasha Pyeatte, who has successfully completed the Abt® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 7 of the Abt® National Training Curriculum.
