The Wellmont Theatre opened in 1922 as a live theater house, but switched a movie-oriented theater in 1929. The Wellmont closed in 2006, but will re-open in November 2008 as a concert and live events venue. The capacity of the new-look Wellmont will be hold approximately 2,500.
