George Inness and the Poetry of Place with Dr. Adrienne Baxter Bell
George Inness and the Poetry of Place is presented by Adrienne Baxter Bell, professor of art, Marymount Manhattan College, New York. Bell will grapple with the somewhat paradoxical way in which the terrain of Montclair inspired the artist and amateur philosopher George Inness to produce some of the greatest contributions to 19th-century American art. This lecture is in conjunction with the yearlong MSU series, Jersey: A Sense of Place.
