Moore, a Dallas architect, the Border opened on April 3, 1942 with the Roy Rogers movie “Heart of the Rio Grande”.
The Historic Border Theatre is one of the last remaining theaters with Art Pueblo Styling. The Border is virtually the same inside and out as it was when constructed in 1942. In 1997, the Border Theatre earned the distinction of becoming a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
