The Breeders
The Breeders Remove performer from this event

Mudhoney
Mudhoney Remove performer from this event

Melvins
Melvins Remove performer from this event
The Melvins were the first post-punk band to revel in the slow, sludgy sounds of Black Sabbath. Their music is oppressively slow and heavy, only without any of the silly mystical lyrics or the indulgent guitar solos; it's just one massive, oozing pile of dark slime....
Tortoise
Tortoise Remove performer from this event

Shellac
Shellac Remove performer from this event
More likely to play Reykjavik than Detroit, and more likely to release songs on flexi-discs in Dutch comic books than provide MP3s on their website, Shellac (or Shellac of North America) operated completely outside the typical machinations of the music industry -- their press sheets typically exclai

Stephen Malkmus
Stephen Malkmus Remove performer from this event
After Pavement announced they were going on hiatus at the end of 1999, the status of one of America's finest indie rock bands was a mystery for the first half of 2000. It became clearer that summer, however, when it was revealed that both singer/songwriter/guitarists Stephen Malkmus and Scott Kannbe
Deerhoof
Deerhoof Remove performer from this event
By turns cuddly and chaotic, San Francisco's Deerhoof mix noise, sugary melodies, and an experimental spirit into sweetly challenging and utterly distinctive music. The group began as the brainchild of guitarist Rob Fisk and drummer/keyboardist Greg Saunier in 1994; early releases, such as the 1995
