Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival: Portrait of Jason
A newly restored version of this landmark in the history of documentary, and one of the first out LGBT films ever made. Across the course of a single, alcohol-informed, through-the-night, 12-hour shoot, Shirley Clarke captured the charismatic Jason Holliday, an African-American, gay hustler-cabaret performer-sometime domestic, as he held forth, without inhibition, at times outrageously, about his life. Co-presented with UWM Libraries.
