Looking for a spot to kick off your shoes and enjoy the sounds of the Menomonee River under relaxing shady trees? Come visit Charles Hart Park, located in Wauwotosa, WI. Volleyball and tennis courts are available for use, and a full-sized softball diamond often features local league play, or just pick-up games. A paved biking, roller blading and hiking trail winds through the park, part of the Wisconsin-wide Oak Leaf Trail.

This gem of a park connects to other pearls of Milwaukee County Parks via the Oak Leaf bike trail. From Hoyt Park, west and north of the Village along the Menomonee River Parkway, to Jacobus Park, east of Hart Park along the Honey Creek Parkway, you'll find people walking, running, strolling, boarding and biking and enjoying this oasis in the urban life.

There are often public events taking place in the football stadium, and the Mullner Building and Senior Community Center at Hart Park bustles daily with programs and events.

Improvements to the Football Stadium

New renovations have been done to the football field at Hart Park making it considered to be one of the best high school football fields in the state. Walking into the stadium, everything seems as it has been for years. The cream-colored locker room building is the same, along with the concession stand and scoreboard. Looking out over the field it’s a different story. The new field, made of field turf, stands out drastically because of its unusually bright green color, unlike the past grass/mud field. The permanent lines on the field give a very crisp look very similar to a football field on a crystal clear television. Other than just white football lines, there are also different colored lines for other sports such as soccer. This new field is a massive improvement from the past field that was almost barren of grass leaving raw mud, hard clay, and brown weeds exposed due to wear from numerous football teams each fall.
Encompassing the field is a new, dark-red track including jumping pits. The old track had its rubber surface in some spots completely gone, exposing the hard rain-ridden asphalt underneath. The new track is an eight-lane track has ample space to hold all the running as well as field events. On each side of the track stand new, massive bleachers, standing over the field creating the atmosphere of an actual full-sized stadium. The bleachers are metal with tan wooden siding on the sides, which is an improvement from the past wooden bleachers. On top of the home bleacher stands a gigantic, tan and brown press box. The windows on the press box peer down on the field like monster on its prey. The press box not only offers a professional appearance but also a professional ability to the stadium. All in all, the improvements to Hart Park Stadium provide a professional atmosphere and quality that is far better than the past stadium.
